Étienne is an actor whose career is not exactly thriving. He lands a contract to lead a theater workshop for inmates in a prison. Initially, all the participants are reluctant, but the prisoners' acting talent eventually surprises Étienne, who becomes engrossed in the project. He decides to stage Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot with them, a play that perfectly captures the prisoners' constant state of waiting, aiming for a performance in a real theater.
