Synopsis

A period drama inspired by a true story, The Jan Bojarski Case recounts the extraordinary destiny of a young Polish refugee who, in post-war France, became the greatest counterfeiter of his time, nicknamed the «"Cézanne of counterfeit money"».

For more than fifteen years, Jan Bojarski led a double life without his family's knowledge. Alone, in a modest shed at the bottom of his garden, he manufactured counterfeit banknotes of such remarkable quality that they sometimes appeared more authentic than those issued by the Bank of France.

Throughout these years, this exceptional forger thwarts police investigations and becomes Commissioner Mattei's sworn enemy. A relentless manhunt ensues, fueled by the two men's obsession, ultimately escalating into a true duel.
