French National Day

July 12 - 4:00 PM - 20:00 UTC-6

With the generous support of: Emmanuel Giry, Honorary Consul of France in Calgary, Lingua Franca Inc., Gérard Carlier.

The Honorary Consul of France in Calgary, the City of the Rockies, the Alliance Française of Calgary and the City of Calgary are pleased to invite you to celebrate together the French National Day.

What makes July 14th so special for the French?

Mainly because it's the day of the French national holiday! July 14th commemorates the significant event of the "Fête de la Fédération" of 1790, which took place on the first anniversary of the dismantling of the Bastille fortress on July 14, 1789. The storming of the Bastille was a symbolic event representing a new era in France and preceded the establishment of the First Republic.

What are we doing this year?

Join us on Sunday, July 12, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., for a friendly cocktail reception at the Café Théâtre in La Cité des Rocheuses. Enjoy a beautiful summer afternoon—hopefully sunny—filled with joy and good company in this new French-inspired café-restaurant! A must-visit spot in Calgary.
