Actors Antoine and Roxanne are to star in a film about the legacy of Brother Marie-Victorin and the relationship and correspondence he maintained with his student, and later esteemed colleague, Marcelle Gauvreau. Through their characters' work and research on the flora of the St. Lawrence River, and later on human desire and the many taboos surrounding sexuality in Quebec during the first half of the 20th century, Antoine and Roxanne reflect on their own relationship and their worldview. Different times, different customs, a different kind of impossible love?
