Since her mother's death, Laura has been touring Quebec with her father, Bill, a professional clown. This nomadic life doesn't appeal to the teenager, who longs for a more conventional existence. With the help of her math teacher, she dreams of attending a private school. Her father disapproves, believing that one learns far more on the road than in the classroom.
